What is God’s Will?

Ask Me and I will tell you some remarkable secrets about what is going to happen here (Jeremiah 33:3 NLT).

Henry Blackaby, the author of Experiencing God, said that we often get the wrong answer because we ask the wrong question. The wrong question: “What is God’s will for my life?” The right question: “What is God’s will?” Do you see the difference?  The first question is self-centered. It revolves around my finding out what I’m supposed to be doing and then getting God to come help me accomplish my plan. The second question is God-centered. It seeks to find out what God is doing and then asking how I can help Him accomplish His plans.

Today, we want to ask some right questions in hopes that we can know and understand that Jesus is the Final Answer. Think about these and ask The Final Answer to direct your thoughts.

Do you need a good swift kick in your “can’ts?”
Do you count your blessings, or do you think your blessings don’t count?
What good is aim if you never pull the trigger?
Are you known by the promises you don’t keep?
Have you noticed that 99% of the things you worry about never happen?
Are you a winner, or a whiner?
Do you make promises, or commitments?
Do you believe your doubts and doubt your beliefs?
Have you been ignoring the still small Voice inside of you?  What is He saying?
Are you making a cemetery out of your life by burying your talents and gifts?
Are you always getting ready to live, but never getting around to living?
What far-reaching effects could be realized if you recognized the purpose God has for you, and you started today to work toward that purpose?
Is your fear of loss greater than your desire to glorify God?
Do you let God heal your hurts, or do you memorize them?
If you had the power to do anything, how would you go about deciding what to do?
If not you, then who?  If not now, then when?
Are you willing to give up what you have and who you are to gain what God wants to give you and to be who He wants you to be?
What is most important to you in life?

Is that your Final Answer?

Heavenly Father, I know the answers You want to hear, but they are not always the answers I want to give. I’ll admit that I am still a little self-centered. I still whine when I don’t get my way. My heart’s desire is for Jesus to be my Final Answer for all of life’s questions. Would You help me ask the right questions? Would You keep me reaching for my destiny… the destiny You put inside of me? You are the best, Lord. Amen.”

Blessings,

Kenny
