Awaken!

What I want to share with you has been more wonderful and life changing for me than I could have ever imagined.  My only regret is that it took so many years for me to ‘get it!’  It is nothing like religion ever taught me. My awakening is a gift from the Lord which He offers freely to anyone who will receive it. Whether you choose to accept, or not, is entirely up to you.

One thing I have come to understand is that I cannot live beyond what I believe. If what I believe is a lie, then that is how I will live. And I lived a lie for many years until the Lord set me free.

I remember a season in my journey with the Lord where it was all about me trying to get more of Jesus, getting filled and refilled with the Spirit. It was all about continually thinking and doubting: Am I being good enough? Am I sinning? Am I not sinning?

Thanks be to God, I don’t live there anymore! If that’s where you are currently living, you must be completely exhausted and overwhelmed!!

Our (Jesus and me) goal for this book is to help you understand what it means for Christ to be your life, and what it looks like for Christ to live His life in you and through you. This life is nothing like ‘religion’ has ever taught you. Religion is death inducing. The truth is life-transforming!

The simple truth of ‘Christ IN you’ has been buried under a counterfeit gospel that manipulates believers into behaving like Jesus by keeping the rules. When you are uncertain of your true identity in Christ, you will begin lean on your own effort. “Do this to get that blessing,” or “Don’t do this and stay free.” It sounds reasonable, but it leads us away from dependency on Christ and teaches us to trust in ourselves. We may be justifying it by telling ourselves that we’re co-laboring with God, but the true gospel is “Jesus plus nothing equals everything.”

Our true Christian identity has been hidden in plain view since the writings of the apostle Paul; however, there needs to be a paradigm shift in order for us to ‘get it’ and especially to ‘live it.’

So get ready to understand your true identity in Christ. Because of God’s great love for you, it was His plan from eternity past to be joined with you forever. You were created for oneness and union with God.

You need to wake up to your new life, to possess it, to put it on. You need to realize your need to wake up from the stupor of religion. Realize you are born again into God’s family. You are a new superior type of creation. A child of God. You are not the old you you’ve always known. That old you is gone forever.

Our goal is to take the jigsaw pieces and put them all together so you can plainly see how simple and wonderful your life IN Christ really is.

The penny that needs to drop for you is the understanding that you have no life apart from Christ.  You have His life. As He is in heaven, so are you on earth. You and Jesus are identical in nature and character because He is your life. The old you does not exist anymore. The enemy will lie in order to hide the truth from you. Don’t get to heaven and find out you have lived a lie.

All through the Bible, we find this common thread: Christ IN you, the hope of glory. This is the true mystery of faith! You still exist, but you are hidden IN Christ.  Pray that the eyes of your heart will be enlightened to understand this mystery. God has given you the key to the Kingdom. All you have to do is unlock the door. The key is faith.

All the truth we have laid before you to this point means nothing if you do not act on it. Faith is not giving mental assent to some facts. It is acting on those facts. Faith is an action word.

There are mysteries in the realm of the spirit that will never be apparent to you. Jesus living in you is one of them. To the natural eye, it looks like you are living in you. When Jesus walked the earth, it looked like He was living on earth when in actuality it was the Father living His life through Jesus.

You might be asking, “So am I still me? Am I still alive, or is it Him?” You are still the unique ‘you’ God created ‘you’ to be, but Jesus is the Source of your life now. He expresses His life in you, through you, for you, and as you.

Are you ready? There is an amazing new life waiting for you. Awaken to it. All of creation is waiting. Jesus is waiting. What are you waiting for? Let’s get started.
