One Word

Happy New Year!!

God not only shaped us uniquely, He planned every day of our life to support His SHAPING process.
This means that nothing in our life is insignificant. God uses everything to shape us for our unique role. He wastes nothing. He gives us talents, abilities, interests, gifts, personality, and life experiences to be used for His glory.

Greet 2025 with a healthy “Hello” by accepting those challenges and opportunities that confront you by committing yourself to give your understanding, patience, and help to those who need you.

Discover the ‘One Word’ God has for you this year!

Pray and ask God to choose your word for you.
He knows what the year ahead brings and exactly the focus we need to meet the challenges of 2025.

“One Word” can be your driving force for the year.
No goals. No wish lists. Just one word that can change your life in 2025.

Instead of making New Year’s Resolutions (that few of us ever accomplish), let’s do one thing that can transform our lives and focus us on discovering the life purpose God has for us.
It’s not a formula—it’s a focus.
One word that will narrow our direction.
One word that creates laser-like clarity and will last all year.

Ask yourself:

  • What do I need?
  • What areas of my life need the most change?
  • What is preventing me from having what I need?

When you find your word—that God has just for you—it will change the way you think, the words you speak, the attitudes of your heart, your relationships, and your actions. A single thought can change your entire life!

Over the past 9 years, One Word has molded and shaped me to become a better person.
I’ve prayed about my hopes and dreams for 2025, as I have each of the past 9 years, and my word for 2025 is “Prayer”!

  • 2016 – Gratitude: I became thankful for everything… air, water, a warm bed, food, hugs, breezes, seeing, hearing, and my wonderful family and friends.
  • 2017 – Identity: Christ is my life… I am in Him and He is in me… every breath I take and every move I make is because of and given to me by Him.
  • 2018 – Encouragement: Our number one need is to get and stay encouraged. Tough times are no match for inner strength fueled by hope.
  • 2019 – Connected: God created us for relationship. Connected to God. Connected to family. Connected to friends. (We love God by loving people!)
  • 2020 – Joy: Rejoice! Let your joy reverberate. Hug someone. Dance. Speak inspiring words. Joy yearns to be expressed.
  • 2021 – Purpose: God made each of us for a reason. Our life has profound meaning. I wanted a wise and discerning heart to understand my purpose.
  • 2022 – Trust: God is more reliable than the most trustworthy friend. I trusted that His plans were to prosper me. I learned to enjoy the moment.
  • 2023 – Grace: Grace is God as a heart surgeon—removing our poisoned hearts and replacing them with His own.
  • 2024 – Intuition: Acting from the heart, not just the head. Intuition is understanding or acting without conscious reasoning.

These words don’t stop when the year ends. They grow and bring joy to my heart.
I understand my purpose and identity better.
I feel more connected to His presence than ever.
This leads to gratitude for all His blessings.
Trust shows me that He meets my needs and helps me see life through His eyes, not mine.
Seeing through His eyes, I realize everyone needs encouragement.
The more I grow in His grace, the more contented I become.

So, in 2025, my word is Prayer.

How many times have we tried to find solutions to problems and failed?
How many times did we only pray as a last resort?
Why didn’t we pray first?

  • Could it be that we don’t trust God?
  • Did we think God wanted us to do it on our own?
  • What can we do on our own, since Jesus tells us “Without Me, you can do nothing”? (John 15:5)

Do we think God doesn’t have time for our small stuff—like where we lost our keys?

Start the New Year encouraged!
No matter what heartache or hardship you’ve endured, God always offers the opportunity to begin again.
He doesn’t cancel our destiny because we’ve taken a few detours.
He still has a plan for our lives.

Resolve to find your One Word goal for 2025, and may this be your most joyful New Year ever.

No resolutions.
No goals.
Just ONE WORD

To give your life meaning, passion, and purpose.
