Hope Shaped Creatures

We were on our early morning 3-mile walk on the beach today, and it was amazing to watch the rapidly changing skyscapes. God reminded me that life is always lived in the eye of the storm, and He provided powerful visual images to reflect that truth. The stormy clouds covered the sun, but just on the edge, you could see the light breaking through into clear blue sky.

We are hope-shaped creatures. The way we live today is deeply influenced by what we believe about our future. The first rule for surviving any hard situation is to remember that God is in control, to maintain a positive attitude, and to not let pessimism kill our will to keep going. We grow stronger with every experience where we push ourselves beyond what we thought we were capable of. So keep smiling and enjoy the journey, even when it feels like hope is gone. Everything is going to be all right. Remember: H.O.P.E. — Hold On, Pain Ends!

Hope is like a star—often invisible during the sunshine of prosperity, and only discovered in the dark night of adversity. It is called the anchor of the soul because it provides stability to our lives. But hope is not merely a wish or vague optimism; rather, it clings to the certainty of God’s promises about the future.

When your hopes and dreams feel far away, and your faith begins to fade, remember the deep connection between hope and faith. You can’t have one without the other. Hope is the foundation of your faith, just as faith is the foundation of your hope. Faith makes all things possible. Hope makes all things work. Love makes all things beautiful.

Life’s circumstances ebb and flow. They are unpredictable. Life seasons change, often without warning. But when you say that a situation or a person is hopeless, you’re slamming the door in God’s face. Tears remain the truest connection we share with one another, and trust is the truest connection we have with God. The struggle you’re facing today is developing strength for tomorrow. And with God’s help, we can remain steadfast—anchored in hope.
