Bird Watching

It’s snowing. I’m sitting at the breakfast table watching the birds peck through the snow to find the bird seed I just put on the sidewalk and underneath the bird feeder. We have some bird seed cakes hanging from our plant rack, too. Right now, Woody, our huge red-headed woodpecker, is swinging on the bird feeder craning his neck to find a hole full of lunch.

We must have a dozen or more different kinds of birds in our little sanctuary. They are beautiful and unique… a testimony to God’s love of variety and diversity. I sit here thinking of what Jesus said about the birds. They don’t sow or reap or gather into barns, and yet Papa feeds them. They depend upon the fact that God will feed them even though they don’t philosophize about it. They just fly, hop around, eat, raise babies, and live. I’ve never seen a single bird ringing his claws worrying about his next meal.

I wrote recently about a new star they have discovered that is so big, you could fit 21 trillion suns inside it. Can you imagine that? And the same God that breathed that star into existence created those tiny birds whom He feeds every day.

Jesus also said that two sparrows are sold for a penny, and yet not a single one falls to the ground apart from God’s will and knowledge. Now if the same God who breathes out humongous stars and crafts tiny birds whom He feeds every single day cares so much for His creation, don’t you think He will take care of you, Beloved, His highest and most cherished creation?

You think about that… Enjoy the snow and the show.

Blessings,

Kenny

Will what you are worrying about right now going to matter in eternity?
