Let’s Change the World

I don’t know if you have noticed lately, but frowns are outnumbering smiles by a mile. Just take a walk around a shopping mall. People look like dying calves in a hail storm. A lot have plugs in their ears. They have their eyes glued to a flat box which they hold in their hands massaging it with their thumbs. They are oblivious to everything around them. Nobody talks to other human beings anymore. It’s sad.

Jesus is our ever happy God. He is always happy because He knows that whatever is making us sad will fade away one day. It won’t last forever. And because He lives in us, through us, for us, and as us we should be happy, too. What makes Him happy is us. People. He loves people. He loves to connect with them. Talk with them. Enjoy them.

We belong to Jesus lock, stock, and barrel. He bought us with His blood. Our body belongs to Him. He would like to use it to love the world to life.

We have been told that the world is broken beyond repair. It is futile to try and make it better. We just need to endure it and hang onto Jesus until we die, or He comes back to get us. But that is not what Jesus wants. He wants to save the world, one person at a time. How would He do that?

Smile. Refuse to let the frowns of the world turn your smile upside down. Smile at people as you pass them. Ask them how they are doing. Tell them to have a good day. What if they scowl at you and think you are crazy. Big deal. Jesus wants to smile at them. The one who needs a smile the most is he who has no smile to give. Give them a big one.

Encouragement. Tell the cashier at Walmart what a good job they are doing. Ask them about how they got their name. Engage them. Encourage them. Lift their spirit. People could use a lot more MiracleGro words. Lord knows the world is full of RoundUp words. Jesus wants to fertilize them, not kill them at the root.

Be positive. Stop complaining. Don’t you know that everything that touches our lives was put there by the Lord? Even the aggravating stuff. Quit griping over stuff you have no control. The weather. Politics. Traffic. Other people’s moods. You are the only one choosing for you. Choose to be positive and optimistic.

Be a hope peddler. Depression is the result of hopelessness. So many sad people have simply given up hope. But Jesus will make a way where there seems to be no way. As a matter of fact, He is the WAY. Don’t ever give up. Keep believing. Allowing Jesus to shine through you will inspire others to keep on keeping on.

We are either part of the problem, or part of the solution.

It’s better to light one candle than to curse the darkness.

Start changing your world today, Beloved!

Blessings,

Kenny
