Roads to Jesus

Whatever we do, it is because Christ’s love controls us.  —2 Corinthians 5:14 NLT

Is Jesus your final answer? Does His love, and His love alone, control you? Have you surrendered your life… your dreams… your hopes… your desires… your whole being to Christ? If not, you are not controlled by His love. You are controlled by your own agenda. Your motives are impure. You serve to fulfill your life, not to glorify His.

If you are serving others for any other motivation than honoring the Lord, your service will always have limits. There are some things you may do for others, but some things you won’t do. There was nothing Jesus would not do for us if His Father asked Him to do it. He was obedient even to the point of death… even the death on the cross (Philippians 2:8). 

Mary Magdalene was tormented for years by seven demons. One day Father God said, “Enough is enough! Son, set her free!” And Jesus served His Father and obeyed. He cast those demons out of Mary, and her life was changed forever. After that fateful day, there was nothing she would not do for Jesus. No task was too menial. His love controlled her.

Mary’s life drastically changed forever because she knew something most people do not know. She knew… really knew how desperately hopeless and helpless she was. She knew she was nothing. She knew she had nothing. Therefore, she knew she had nothing to lose. Jesus was not only her final answer, He was her only answer.

Beloved, that is the place where you will find all you’ve been looking for. Seven demons brought Mary to the place in her life where Jesus was her only hope. Who, or what, is escorting you? Sickness? A broken relationship? Divorce? A haunting past? Regret? Fear? Doubt? Confusion? Emptiness? Loneliness?…

Take heart! Those things are not menaces. They are golden chariots propelling you to the place where Hopelessness intersects with the Way, the Truth and the Life. When you reach that point, any way you turn will lead you Home!
