What is the difference between knowledge and enlightenment?
When you have knowledge, you use a torch to light the way. When you are enlightened, you become the torch.
Jesus said in the Sermon on the Mount:
“You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven” (Matthew 5:14-16 NKJV).
I thought Jesus was the light of the world. He says so much Himself.
Then Jesus again spoke to them, saying, “I am the Light of the world; he who follows Me will not walk in the darkness, but will have the Light of life” (John 8:12-13 NASU).
There is no contradiction here. Jesus is the Light of the world.
“I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me” (Galatians 2:20 NASU).
For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. When Christ, WHO IS YOUR LIFE, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory (Colossians 3:3-4 NIV).
As He is, so also are we in this world (1 John 4:17-18 NASU).
Jesus is the Light of the world. As a child of God, He is also your Life. He lives His life in you, through you, for you, and as you. Since He is the Light of the world, and He is your Life, then you are the light of the world because you (your old sinful self) has died and now He lives in you.
I talk to so many people who claim to “know about” Him, but very few who truly “know” Him.
If you are a child of God, then His Light should be giving light to all the world. Is there a basket covering your light? What is it? Unbelief? Pride? Apathy? Worldliness? Ignorance?
Can’t be ignorance if you have just read this Graceline. Ignorance means “lack of knowledge.” Now you know the truth. Believe it, Beloved. Cling to it, trust in it, rely upon it, and put your whole weight upon it. You and Jesus are One. You and Jesus are the Torch. Now go torch the world!
Blessings,
Kenny
